Please click here to get started: PSYE 2024-25 Audition Application
Submit the following through Acceptd:
- Registration form and fee ($45)
- Audition video
- A scanned copy of your solo for the adjudicators. (For piano, harp and percussion solo requirements, please see the excerpt page for your respective instrument).
- A headshot (this doesn’t have to be fancy—just a phone picture of your smiling face!)
In your audition video, you are required to prepare two musical components:
- Solo - Please prepare one solo of your choice which best demonstrates your playing ability. Solos should be a 1 ½ - 2 minute selection performed without an accompanist.
- Required Excerpts – You will be expected to prepare all excerpts assigned to your instrument by Pacific Symphony Youth Ensembles. Please click here to download the excerpts for your instrument.
A few notes…
- If you are also auditioning on an auxiliary instrument (i.e. Piccolo, English horn, etc.), please select the auxiliary instrument on your primary instrument’s application.
- If you would like to be considered for both Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble and Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, choose your primary choice ensemble and select “I would like to be considered for the alternate ensemble.” You only need to submit one application and one audition video.
- If you would like to be considered for multiple ensembles outside of PSYO and PSYWE (i.e. Youth Orchestra and Santiago Strings, or Youth Wind Ensemble and Youth Concert Band), you will need to fill out two separate applications, prepare two different sets of excerpts and prepare two different audition videos.
