Described as “an artist of almost terrifying magnetism” (The Observer) and praised for his “clear and robust tenor” (Opera News), Michael Kuhn is a versatile singer and actor who has appeared on the stages of Broadway, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and more. In 2023 Kuhn made his Broadway debut in the revival of Sweeney Todd starring Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford, where he performed in the ensemble and understudied the role of Adolfo Pirelli. In New York City, Kuhn has appeared Off-Broadway as Basel in ¡Figaro 90210!, and as Romano in the world premiere of Stonewall at Jazz at Lincoln Center; performed in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

In addition to his work in theatre, Kuhn has enjoyed an expansive career in opera and classical music. He has performed with opera houses such as Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Des Moines Metro Opera, Virginia Opera, New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Opera Omaha, Central City Opera, and others. Kuhn’s career in symphonic works has included performances with MidAmerica Productions at Carnegie Hall, the Omaha Symphony, the New York Choral Society, the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, and the Carolina Philharmonic. He is a proud alumnus of Syracuse University and the New England Conservatory.

Endless thanks to my family, friends, teachers, and mentors who have supported me at every step of the journey. Grateful beyond measure to be performing in my 6th Sweeney Todd with Pacific Symphony. @michaelrkuhn / michaelkuhntenor.com. Dedicated to Bobbi.
