An Irvine, CA native, Andrew Chilcote joined the Pacific Symphony double bass section in June 2023. He began pursuing bass under the tutelage of Assistant Principal Doug Basye and is an alum of both Santiago Strings and Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, where he was a prize winner in the annual concerto competition. In addition, he was also a winner of the Orange County Performing Arts Center's (now Segerstrom Arts Center) Tomorrow's Stars at the Center competition in classical instrumental music. He holds a B.M. and M.M. in Double Bass Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied with Donald Palma.

After his M.M., Andrew became a fellow with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, FL where he collaborated as a bass coach with institutions such as NYO2, the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, Iberacademy in Medellin, Colombia, and in performance with the Pratt Institute, Fine Arts Quartet, and Palladium Chamber Players. He has previously joined the sections of the Phoenix Symphony, Illinois Symphony and Sarasota Opera Orchestra.

When the 2020 pandemic shut down live music, Andrew decided to return to school and pursue a Performer Diploma in Orchestral Studies at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, studying with Jeffrey Turner and Kurt Muroki. While there, he served as the school's Associate Instructor of Double Bass and performed as a frequent substitute musician with the Indianapolis Symphony and Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, as well as with the orchestras of Louisville, Nashville, Milwaukee, Memphis, Rochester, Pensacola, Alabama and Chattanooga.

In the summer, Andrew performs as a member of the Artosphere Festival Orchestra and has previously played with the Verbier Festival Orchestra and Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra. He has also participated as a fellow at Music Academy in Santa Barbara, the Chautauqua Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, and National Repertory Orchestra. Abroad, he has played with the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra, the Britten-Pears Orchestra and the Youtube Symphony at the Sydney Opera House.
