John Evans Recognized for Outstanding Contributions to Pacific Symphony

Congratulations to Pacific Symphony’s longtime dedicated volunteer and Board member, John Evans, for receiving the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award at the Association of California Symphony Orchestra (ACSO) Annual Conference at Mission Inn in Riverside. The Award recognizes exemplary volunteers, volunteer projects, and volunteer organizations and to thank a few of the hundreds of dedicated, hardworking, and committed volunteers that orchestras and classical music organizations depend on every day.

“John Evans, who is a former chair of the Symphony’s Board of Directors, has been devoted to Pacific Symphony’s work and mission for over three and a half decades. He has played an outstanding role through his servitude and leadership. He attends both our Pops and Classical series as a Box Circle Club member,” said Abby Edmunds, Pacific Symphony’s Senior Director of Volunteer Services. “For all he means to Pacific Symphony, we celebrate John and congratulate him on being our Volunteer of the Year!”

Pacific Symphony’s President & CEO John Forsyte said: “We are so proud that John Evans received the MVP (Most Valuable Player) Volunteer award from ACSO for his outstanding contributions and dedication to the Symphony. John’s long-standing involvement as the immediate past Board chair and his extensive service on the Board for the majority of the Symphony’s 45-year existence demonstrate his deep commitment to the organization.

“Together with his wife Ruth Ann, John’s active participation in chairing events, endowing the Principal Bassoon Chair, and their consistent attendance at classical and pops concerts showcase their strong support for the Symphony’s mission. John’s expertise, passion, and advocacy have undoubtedly played a crucial role in navigating both challenging and exciting moments in the Symphony’s history.”

Pacific Symphony is grateful for John’s remarkable contributions and is proud to have such dedicated individuals who have significantly enriched the Symphony’s journey.
