Upcoming Pops Programs!

Pacific Symphony’s newly appointed Principal Pops Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez will conduct the final Pops program of the 2022-23 season: Renée Elise Goldsberry (June 9 – 10). Commenting on the recently announced 2023-24 Pops series, Lopez-Yañez said,

I am so thrilled about my first season as Principal Pops Conductor of Pacific Symphony and the exciting Pops Series we have planned for the audience. The season contains a fantastic mix of genres of music, incredible headliners, and music from all corners of the globe. Whether you are a symphony veteran or a newcomer, there is something here for you and we look forward to welcoming you to Pacific Symphony!

The season features seven not-to-be-missed concerts that include music from the movies, Broadway, festive holiday cheer, classic rock, and Latin flair—all enhanced by the “Hollywood” sound of the orchestra. The season opens with Music of Star Wars (Nov. 3-4). Next up are the angelic voices of “Celtic Woman” bringing dazzling holiday cheer (Dec. 15-16), spicy “Latin Fire with Arturo Sandoval” (Feb. 16-17, 2024), “Lyle Lovett” (March 8-9, 2024), “Michael Cavanaugh Performs the Music of Elton John” (April 19-20, 2024), “Ben Rector & Cody Fry” (May 10-11, 2024) and will culminate in a grand finale presenting the Tony® Award-winning musical adaptation of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (June 14-15, 2024). Pacific Symphony’s 2023-24 Pops series is underwritten by the Sharon J. and Thomas E. Malloy Family and is sponsored by PBS SoCal and K-Earth 101 Radio. All concerts begin at 8 p.m. and take place in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, 615 Town Hall, Costa Mesa.

CELTIC WOMAN CHRISTMAS TOUR

Be swept away by Celtic Woman’s angelic voices and stunning performances of beloved Christmas classics and traditional Celtic carols. Together, the singers blend their voices with traditional fiddles, pipes, and harp to transcend the spirit of the sea

LATIN FIRE WITH ARTURO SANDOVAL

FEB. 16-17, 2024 • 8 P.M.

This scorching performance brings together the Grammy® Award-winning jazz trumpeter and composer with the full sonic force of a symphony orchestra—delivering a fiery fusion of jazz and Latin music that’s sure to get you dancing!

LYLE LOVETT

MARCH 8-9, 2024 • 8 P.M.

Be mesmerized by the soulful voice and impeccable guitar skills of Lyle Lovett, as he performs his greatest hits backed by a full symphony orchestra. Bonnie Raitt says Lovett “writes songs that sound like no one else’s and then he sings them in an even more unique way.”

MICHAEL CAVANAUGH PERFORMS THE MUSIC OF ELTON JOHN

APRIL 19-20, 2024 • 8 P.M.

Get ready to rock out with Michael Cavanaugh (back by popular demand!), as he performs the timeless hits of Elton John! This electrifying show features Cavanaugh’s powerhouse vocals and incredible piano skills, accompanied by a full orchestra.

BEN RECTOR & CODY FRY

MAY 10-11, 2024 • 8 P.M

Two of the most talented and innovative singer-songwriters of our time will take you on a journey through their eclectic blend of pop, rock, and soulful ballads—all showcasing their impressive musicianship and heartfelt lyrics.

SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET

JUNE 14-15, 2024 • 8 P.M.

Stephen Sondheim’s thrilling musical tale of the infamous barber seeking revenge comes to life! Featuring a full symphony orchestra, a talented cast of actors, unique costumes, and props, this thrilling performance will transport you to the dark and mysterious streets of Victorian London.
