Renée Elise Goldsberry graced The Good Wife and One Life to Live on television. Broadway cheered her in Rent, The Color Purple and Hamilton, and gave her a Tony and a Grammy.
Goldsberry is best known for her role in the original cast of the Tony-award winning Broadway production of “Hamilton” as Angelica Schuyler. Watch a clip from “Hamilton” here. In an interview on “LIVE with Kelly and Mark,” she revealed how she almost didn’t audition for “Hamilton,” the show that ultimately catapulted her career. She explained how the phenomenon of redirecting her energy to other pursuits seemed to be the key to her big break. Goldsberry began her career on Broadway as Nala in The Lion King after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University and getting her Master’s from USC in jazz performance. She is a gifted actress in addition to her vocal prowess, her career spanning from Broadway to singing at the White House and 9/11 Memorial, to acting roles in TV and film. In this video, Goldsberry rehearses “Old Friend” from “I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road” at New York City Center. It is just one of many example of her incredible acting and singing talents.

Hear Renée’s golden voice fill Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in a collection of showstoppers as only she can sing them, June 9-10 at 8 p.m. in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
The show will feature Pacific Symphony’s newly-appointed Principal Pops Conductor, Enrico Lopez-Yañez, backed by the Hollywood sound of Pacific Symphony. They will be joined by Guest Conductors Maestro Michael Jabs (Friday, June 9) and Maestro Christopher Trela (Saturday, June 10), who will lead the orchestra in “76 Trombones” from The Music Man. The program will also include selections from Hamilton, Rent, The Lion King, and more!
